It is such a pleasure to feature Leigh Sullivan, President at Regency Travel. Not only is Leigh one of the best travel advisors out there, but she does it with an infectious smile and great attitude. If you need some advice on your next travels, you’ll probably find Leigh at the closest Barry Manilow concert!
Q & A
I can’t wait to visit…
New Zealand & Patagonia.
Best Hotel amenity…
local wine or beer.
I always bring home…
cookbooks.
I don’t leave home without…
face cream, ginger candy and my Ipad.
I dream about my meals IN…
Clayoquot Wilderness Resort on Vancouver Island, Stone crabs at Joes, gelato at Primavera in Sorrento, Kahala burgers at the Kahala Hotel in Honolulu.
Everywhere I go I check out the…
dining options and hotel properties. And occasionally the spa.
The best part about being on a long flight is…
being disconnected.
My all-time favorite destinations…
British Columbia, France and Easter Island – and wherever I am going next.
The craziest thing that happened to me traveling was…
A friend and I waited at the bus stop in Monaco for the bus going to Nice – it never came (that we know of!), then after 1 ½ hrs. later while walking back to the hotel to rent a car – we saw our hotelier host who said “How was Nice? You didn’t stay very long!” We did finally make it to Nice, but got a parking ticket. . .
When I arrive at a new place I learn the lay of the land by…
securing a guide for walking/sightseeing tour or a hop/on-off tour.
If you were not doing your current job, what would be your dream job?
Owning a nursery (flowers, not babies!).
If you could have dinner with 4 people, dead or alive, who would be there?
Coco Chanel, Nelson Mandela, Julia Child and Ira Gershwin. And my husband of course!
If you were forced to live in one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?
Wherever my children are.
What is the best concert you have ever attended?
Barry Manilow~ all 12 times.
